Baritone saxophonist Michael Morrison has a tone that features the right amount of grit, and he revels in employing the horn’s lower register.  When he solos, he communicates pure exuberance.   His music contains the hard-bop sounds of the 1960’s, as well as reworking tunes from the Great American Songbook.
